The Grand Mufti (Mr. Arun Boonchum) as the Chairman of the Central Maulid Organizing Committee of Thailand, together with Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palare, Chairman of the Central Maulid Organizing Committee of Thailand for the year of Hijri 1446 and the organizing committee jointly announced the preparations for this event at the office of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, the National Islamic Affairs Administration Center, Chalermprakiat, Nong Chok District, Bangkok. The gist of the announcement is as follows:
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun and Her Majesty the Queen have scheduled to preside over the opening ceremony of the Central Maulid of Thailand for the year of Hijri 1446 (2568) on Friday, April 18, 2568 at 4:00 p.m. at the National Islamic Affairs Administration Center, Chalermprakiat, Nong Chok District, Bangkok. This is considered a great royal grace that this event is part of an important royal ceremony that His Majesty, as the Supreme Patriarch, has always had for the Thai Muslim population throughout the Kingdom.
The Central Maulid of Thailand is an important event for our Thai Muslim brothers and sisters. Held continuously since 2504 (1382 AH), this event is the 59th time that the Chularatchamontri, the Executive Committee of Islamic Religious Organizations at all levels, as well as Muslim institutions in Thailand and Muslim organizations in the country have collaborated to organize the Central Maulid of Thailand with the main principle of honoring the virtues of

Throughout the 3 days from Friday 18 - Sunday 20 April 2025, the event's activities are diverse, including religious and academic activities, exhibitions on the role of the Lord Buddha in developing the quality of people and society sustainably, and exhibitions in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun's 60th birthday anniversary. National Qari Test to bring the male and female winners to join the International Qari Test in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Youth Qari Test, Quran Reading Demonstration by Qariists from 10 ASEAN member countries, Qari Tammat Ceremony and Youth Activity Test, Academic Seminars reflecting the shared values of this year's event, namely "Following the Prophet's Footsteps, Faithful Way, Leading Society, Fighting for Peace".
For other activities, we received cooperation from governmental organizations, private sectors, and private and civil society sectors, exhibitions of various types of halal products from private entrepreneurs and community organizations, Java Sparrow Sound Competition, and traditional football match of the Central Maulid of Thailand.
Incidentally, the Central Maulid of Thailand was first organized in the year 1385 Hijri (1961). Therefore, this event is the 59th time. In the first year of the event after the cancellation of the event due to the COVID-19 situation in late 2019, it is expected that there will be more than 20,000 participants. For those in various provinces nationwide or residing abroad, they can watch the event via live broadcast. On the radio and television station of Thailand (NB2 HD), the Public Relations Department, and various forms of multimedia throughout the event.
