Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony of the 2nd National Quran Memorization Contest (The 2nd National Quran Memorization Contest)

On Thursday, September 11, 2015, at the Al Meroz Hotel, Bangkok, the closing ceremony of the 2nd National Quran Memorization Competition was held. Youth from across the country participated in the competition and demonstrated their outstanding Quran memorization skills.

Attendees included:

• Mr. Arun Bunchom, the Grand Mufti of Thailand

• General Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council, presiding over the ceremony

• Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the National Assembly

• H.E. Sheikh Dr. AbdulLatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs and Propagation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

• H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsubahani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Thailand

• Police Major General Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, and his delegation

and distinguished guests from various organizations

The closing ceremony included closing remarks for the project. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Quran memorization competitions at various levels, along with souvenirs given to sponsors. A group photo was also taken, filled with devotion and pride.

This event marked another important step in supporting Islamic education in Thailand and passing on the value of the Holy Quran to youth and society.
