The 1st Focus Group meeting under the project to develop policy proposals and guidelines for the development of the Thai Halal industry for the global market, organized by the Federation of Thai Industries.

Today, Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, assigned Dr. Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and Vice President of Halal Affairs, to attend the first Focus Group meeting under the project to develop policy proposals and guidelines for the development of the Thai Halal industry for the global market, organized by the Federation of Thai Industries.
This meeting served as an important forum for exchanging information, limitations, and policy proposals to strengthen Thailand's Halal system in all aspects, including certification standards, a centralized digital database, Halal logistics, and building confidence among trading partners internationally.
I reflected on several important issues at the meeting, particularly the role of religious organizations in Halal certification, a mission that must strictly adhere to Islamic principles. I also proposed that the government support infrastructure and information technology, including upgrading the country's Halal database to support real-time verification, to increase efficiency, reduce costs for businesses, and enhance Thailand's export potential.
I would like to thank the Federation of Thai Industries and all agencies for their contributions to the Thai Halal system today. We sincerely hope that the voices from all sides will help Thailand become a sustainable and credible halal hub at the regional and global level.
