The Chulalongkorn University Rectorate and the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand organized an event to pay respects and mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.

On February 22, 2026, at 5:30 PM, the Chularajmontri (Chief Islamic Religious Leader) and the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand held a memorial service for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in recognition of her immense kindness towards the Thai Muslim people. Mr. Arun Boonchom, the Chularajmontri, delivered a eulogy and recited a prayer (dua). Police Major General Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, spoke about the importance of the Thai monarchy to the Thai Muslim community and welcomed distinguished guests at the Al Meroz Hotel, Ramkhamhaeng, Bangkok.

The event included a screening of a video titled "The Royal Activities of the Thai Monarchy towards the Thai Muslim People." Prominent figures in attendance included ambassadors from Muslim countries to Thailand, members of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, representatives from provincial Islamic committees nationwide, and representatives from various Islamic religious organizations in Thailand. As well as representatives from various sectors of the Thai Muslim community.
