Stability and commitment from Thai Halal companies in the Malaysian market.

On August 28, 2026, the Halal Affairs Management team... The Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (Halal CICOT) met and held discussions with senior management team from Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM).

The CICOT management team was led by:

Dr. Isma'el Ali, Chairman of Halal Affairs, CICOT

Mr. Suwat Kubkrabi, Secretary of Halal Affairs, CICOT

Mr. Narongdech Sukchan, Deputy Secretary-General, CICOT

Lt. Col. Netipol Sakulshah, Deputy Secretary of Halal Affairs, CICOT

along with CICOT staff.

The JAKIM management team that honored the meeting with their presence was led by:

During this meeting, a strong relationship between the two organizations was established. Updates on new Thai standards for 2025 were discussed, along with discussions on various issues such as the arrest of importers of chicken to Malaysia who were using counterfeit Thai trademarks, control of documentation for Thai halal exports, and the development of a traceability system.

This trip was considered a significant step in strengthening the relationship, receiving updates on regulations between the two organizations, and jointly seeking solutions to ensure stable and long-lasting acceptance of halal exports.
