Police Major General Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, delegated Dr. Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council, to attend a press conference showcasing the achievements of the "Development of Thai Halal Food Industry Potential for Global Consumers" project—a joint initiative for the 2026 fiscal year by the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE) and the National Food Institute (NFI).

Ms. Paiyada Hanchaisuksakul, Director of the National Food Institute, delivered welcoming remarks and outlined the objectives of the event. Mr. Supakit Boonsiri, Director of the Office of Industrial Economics, presided over the announcement, highlighting the success in elevating the standards and competitiveness of 120 Thai Halal food entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to establish Thailand as an "ASEAN Halal Hub," generating an economic value exceeding 1.4 billion baht.

The project comprised four key activities, including:

Market Expansion: Analyzing market insights for Turkey and India, while broadening channels for OEM, HORECA, and the vegetarian/plant-based sector.

Standard Enhancement: Providing intensive training to 42 businesses to ensure they meet comprehensive Halal standards. Driving Innovation: Launching 20 new products in the functional food and protein categories. Connecting to Markets: Supporting 38 enterprises to participate in GRAND HALAL BANGKOK, and another 20 enterprises to showcase their products at SIAL Guangzhou 2026 in China.

This achievement underscores the potential, innovation, and high standards of Thai Halal food—poised for sustainable growth on the global stage.
