Phraya Chularatchamontri
(Konkaew - Muhammad Ma'sum)

Phraya Chularatchamontri (Konkaew), whose Islamic name was "Mirza Muhammad Ma'sum", was the son of Phraya Wichit Narong (Chen), the Chularatchamontri, and Khunying Thongkon. He began his government service by becoming a royal page during the reign of King Suriyat Amarin. After the final fall of Ayutthaya in 1767, he escaped from the enemy and entered into royal service under King Taksin the Great, where he was appointed "Luang Srinawarat".

Eventually, he was appointed Phraya Chularatchamontri, becoming the first to hold the title in the Rattanakosin Kingdom and the fifth Chularatchamontri of the Kingdom of Thailand overall. He was later granted land to build "Kudi Chao Sen" next to the Old Palace, which became known as "Kudi Luang" (the Royal Kudi), during the reign of King Rama I the Great.

Phraya Chularatchamontri (Konkaew) passed away at the age of 82. His body was buried at the Ton Son Mosque (Kudi Yai) at the mouth of the Bangkok Yai canal, behind the Old Palace. He is considered the fifth Chularatchamontri of the Kingdom of Thailand.
