Phraya Chularatchamontri
(Sin - Ghulam Hussein)
Phraya Chularatchamontri (Sin), whose Islamic name was "Mirza Ghulam Hussein," was the son of Phraya Chularatchamontri (Nam) and Khunying Klin.
He was born during the reign of King Rama III (King Nangklao). At the age of 18, he became a royal page with the title of Nai Chalong Nainanart, Mahatlek Wensak. Later, during the reign of King Rama IV (King Mongkut), he was promoted to Luang Ratchasethi.
He also pursued further studies in law, which led to a career in the Ministry of Justice. At just 30 years old, he was promoted to the title of Phra Ratchasethi.
Later, a major administrative reform was implemented, transforming the government into a system of ministries, bureaus, and departments, following the model of Western nations during the reign of King Rama V. At this time, a court of justice was also established, and Phra Ratchasethi (Sin) continued his service.
He was promoted to Phraya Chularatchamontri and was royally appointed as a judge in various courts within the Ministry of Justice. He officially took up the position of Chularatchamontri when his father, Phraya Chularatchamontri (Nam), passed away during the reign of King Chulalongkorn.
Phraya Chularatchamontri (Sin) passed away on June 10, 1910 (Rattanakosin Era 129). On June 11, his body was taken for burial at the kudi next to Wat Hongsarama. He was 65 years old. His grave is located at Ton Son Mosque (Kudi Yai) at the mouth of the Bangkok Luang canal.
Phraya Chularatchamontri (Sin) is considered the sixth Chularatchamontri of the Rattanakosin Kingdom and the tenth of the Kingdom of Thailand.
