Phra Chularatchamontri
(Son Ahmadchula)

Phra Chularatchamontri (Son Ahmadchula) was the ninth Chularatchamontri of the Rattanakosin Kingdom and the 13th of the Kingdom of Thailand.

He was the son of Phraya Chularatchamontri (San) and Khunying Thanom. He became a royal page during the reign of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) and was royally appointed as "Luang Ratchasethi", serving in the Ministry of Interior.

During the reign of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), he was promoted to "Phra Chularatchamontri Son Ahmadchula."

Phra Chularatchamontri (Son Ahmadchula) is considered the last Chularatchamontri from the lineage of Sheikh Ahmad, who was Chao Phraya Bowornrachanayok and the head of the Department of the Interior during the reign of King Prasat Thong.

Individuals from this lineage held the position of Phraya Chularatchamontri for an uninterrupted line of 13 people, starting from the reign of King Songtham of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was during this reign that Sheikh Ahmad was royally appointed as Phraya Sheikh Ahmad Rattanaratchasethi, head of the Department of the Right Harbor and Chularatchamontri.

This period, which lasted 337 years, extended until the reign of King Prajadhipok. The timeframe is calculated from 1602 (B.E. 2145), the year Sheikh Ahmad and Mahamad Saeed arrived in Ayutthaya, to 1939 (B.E. 2482), the year Phra Chularatchamontri (Son Ahmadchula) relinquished his title.

Phra Chularatchamontri (Son Ahmadchula) passed away in 1936 (B.E. 2479), approximately four years after the government transitioned to a democracy. His body was buried at the cemetery of the Ton Son Mosque (Kudi Yai).
